Catch 44

CATCH .44

With Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker, Malin Åkerman, Nikki Reed, Deborah Ann Woll, Shea Whigham

Written & Directed by Aaron Harvey

With crime at the root of this movie, Aaron Harvey leans towards the narrative style popularized by Tarantino and Pulp Fiction, but with less flair and impact.

A trio of young women have been working for a crime boss in their area and have to make a pick-up. However, things go pear-shaped and blood splattered as a shoot-out in the diner result in a stand-off. Mysterious characters lead to no-one being trusted as flash-backs reveal bits of information.

Willis could've skipped this one and Oscar-winner Whitaker has fun with his role, but it's not his best.

Attempting to be wild and intense, this doesn't necessarily succeed as the old theme of money and double crossing get displayed with very little new added to the mix.

Watchable, but no mind-blower.
